If you're needing to organize and store a large collection of cards, here's a suggestion.

Start by organizing cards by year, then by occasion. Rubberband the cards by occasion then by year.

If the cards are not dated, group by occasion. Store these cards in a sturdy container that stacks easily. Label the box very well.
